Job Summary

One Profound Systems Ltd is seeking an experienced Cable Technician to support our growing portfolio of private and public sector technology projects throughout Jamaica.

The Cable Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cable infrastructure and connectivity systems that support internet, networking, and communication technologies for residential, commercial, and institutional clients.

This role requires a professional with strong technical expertise, knowledge of electrical systems, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Main Duties:

• Install, repair, and maintain cable infrastructure and connectivity systems
• Perform structured cabling installations for networking and telecommunications systems
• Troubleshoot cable faults and connectivity issues
• Conduct testing and diagnostics on cable lines and network connections
• Install and configure network hardware and related equipment
• Ensure safe handling of electrical systems and components
• Provide clear communication and technical guidance to clients
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cable Technician or in a related field
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
• Ability to troubleshoot cable and connectivity issues
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service and professional conduct
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service requests

Assets:

• Experience working on telecommunications or network infrastructure projects
• Electrical Trade License
• Experience supporting commercial or government installations

Additional Expectations:

• Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends when required
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Ability to work in various environments including residential, commercial, and outdoor settings
